Herndon Borough-Jackson Township        Joint Municipal Authority
Effective the 4th quarter of 2019, the water & sewer charge increases from $76.50 to $91.50 ($30 for water & $61.50 for sewer) per month--- PER HOUSEHOLD (EDU) billed on a quarterly basis January thru March; April thru June; July thru September; and October thru December.

The Authority bills on a quarterly basis with the option to pay the entire quarter all at once or, pay on a monthly basis with the payment to be received by the 15th of the month.

Some customers have taken the 15th of the month to be the due date and that is in error. If payments are received after the 15th of the month, there is a $20 late fee assessed. If water is disconnected there is a $50 shut off fee...and then a $50 turn on fee when water is turned back on. If water to an EDU is shut off, the property owner continues to pay the $61.50 sewer portion even though there is no water service. The reason for this is based on the fact that the sewer system continues to be maintained, the sewer system connection adds to the value of the property, and the Authority continues to pay back the lending (loan balance as of 12/31/2018 was $1,230,998.56 with monthly payments of $7,221.30 with maturity date in 2038).

Insufficient funds checks are assessed a $35 fee for each attempted deposit.

We bill the property owner and not the tenants. It is the property owner's responsibility to notify the Authority in writing of any changes in the household usages.
